Not everyone begins treatment in detox. Individualized screening helps determine whether residential, outpatient, hospital-level, or other care may be appropriate.
Not everyone entering addiction treatment needs detox. The first question is not whether one program fits everyone; it is whether withdrawal management is needed and what setting can safely meet the person's needs.
Screening comes before a detox decision
A qualified professional and treatment team consider the substances used, current symptoms, health history, previous withdrawal concerns, time since last use, co-occurring conditions, and other individualized factors. This information helps determine whether care should begin with withdrawal management or another treatment step.
There is no single detox plan or setting that is right for every person. A website cannot determine what an individual needs, and a screening conversation is not a substitute for qualified assessment.
Some situations require a higher level of care
Some withdrawal situations require emergency evaluation, hospital care, or another higher level of care before PMR admission or return. Present Moments Recovery cannot safely or appropriately manage every person or every withdrawal situation. If there is a medical emergency or an unstable condition, call 911 or go to the nearest emergency department.
Residential and outpatient pathways are distinct
Present Moments Recovery has a Residential Detox and Withdrawal Management pathway and a separate outpatient withdrawal-management pathway. These are distinct care settings, not interchangeable versions of the same service. Screening and clinical evaluation help determine which setting may be appropriate.

What happens after stabilization
After withdrawal management or another starting point, the next phase of treatment planning also depends on individualized assessment. When clinically appropriate, a person may continue into residential treatment or transition to a different level of care rather than following a fixed schedule.
Do not manage withdrawal alone
If you are unsure where to begin, seek qualified professional assessment rather than trying to determine or manage withdrawal alone. An admissions conversation can help explain how screening works, but it should never delay emergency medical care.
